PARENTS
Parents are the first teachers of their children. The staff of A Shining Star
Learning Center strive to involve parents through daily sheets, newsletters,
open houses, family events, questionnaires, and a variety of activities.
Parents are welcome to volunteer in the classroom, share their expertise
and experiences, help with a special activity, or join your child for lunch.
We appreciate your input, suggestions, and ideas in helping develop your
child’s learning and meeting their needs. When teachers, children, and
parents work together, everyone benefits.
Quick conversations about the child’s day are encouraged at drop-off/pick-up
times. If at any time the parents request a conference with A Shining Star
Learning Center staff, please schedule a conference time with the director.
SECURITY
State-of-the-art safety and security features are designed into A Shining Star
Learning Center, but keeping your child safe involves more than technology.
It also involves teachers who have the training and the watchful eyes needed
to keep your child safe every minute he or she is with us.
Here are a few of the reasons you can rest easy when your child is here:
• Monitored and locked main entrance, with emergency exits in each classroom
• Security cameras in every room
• Fire sprinkler system
• Low student-teacher ratios
• CPR and first aid trained staff
• Playground areas are fully enclosed with fences
• There are virtually no “blind spots” in the room layout that could obstruct
the teacher’s view of the children.
